I'm Sick!

I've been sick for the past three days now. On Monday I left work early, yesterday I called in sick hoping I'd be better today, and today I feel even worse. My body is so sore and I've got an unbelievably high fever. Okay, that's all for now. My fingers ache when I type.

You Want A Patty Boy?

I decided I'd stay in tonight and rent a movie, but I really wanted some company. Mia had made plans to go out, but luckily for me, they didn't turn out. I invited her over and an hour later, picked her up at Scarborough Town Centre. Earlier in the day, I had gone to Roger's Video to rent a movie. I had really wanted to rent "Ray", but had to settle for "Mr. 3000". On the way back to my place, Mia decided that she wanted ice cream, so we stopped off at the Hastey Market. We waited about fifteen minutes for the store clerk to return. He had locked the front entrance to the convenient store and posted a note: "Be back in 5 mins". There was another eager customer waiting for the store clerk to return. Mia and I went into Pizza Pizza to keep warm while we waited. I thought about buying a slice, and the decided I'd just put a pizza in the oven when I got home. It's not delivery. It's Delissio!! We went back outside and the store clerk had still not returned. I made eye contact with the other person who must have been waiting now for twenty minutes, and said "It's been a long five minutes hasn't it?". He replied, "Yes it has" in a voice that was so very familiar to me. I then realized something amazing, something so unexpected. It was Mr. Joe Destine, my highschool guidance counselor. We spoke for a few minutes to catch up on how our lives had been. He bought a lottery ticket, I bought a bottle of Pepsi and we said goodbye.

Mia and I went back to my place. She ate her ice cream as we waited for the pizza to bake. Twenty minutes later, we were ready to watch the movie. Appearantly, Mia really hates baseball, and took every opportunity to make it known throughout the course of the movie. I stopped the movie about half way through. I would have rather continued to watch it by myself, without enduring the agony of having to listen to another complaint. She asked what I was doing, I said I'd finish watching it later, and she insisted that she wanted to see how the movie ended. We watched the rest of the movie. I was not impressed. I have to say, the best part of the movie, would definitely have to be the outtakes reel. Make sure to rent the DVD. Still, it could very well be that environmental circumstances warped my perception of the movie. Maybe I'll watch it again tomorrow.

I'd Just Be Finishing Work Now

I found it extremely difficult to get myself out of bed this morning for work. I was scheduled to start work at 8:00 a.m. today, three and a half hours ealier than I normally start, which meant I had to be up at about 6:00 a.m. if I wanted to get to work on time. I woke up at 6:30 a.m. Somehow, I managed to get to work and sign in at exactly 8:33 a.m. Both my body and mind were exhausted as I worked alone for the first few hours. The rest of my team began arriving at about 11:00 a.m. I took my lunch break as the rest of my team began their shift at 11:30 a.m. Gemma, my team leader, came by and dropped of my new Manulife Financial insurance benefits card. I'm glad I'll no longer be paying full price for my dental visits to Dr. Sunny Yuen's.

The day seemed to fly by as I eagerly awaited an earlier than usual 4:30 p.m. end to my workday. I went to Fairview Mall to look around, something I hadn't done since I started my new job over two months ago. I managed to refrain from purchasing anything althought there really wasn't much that caught my eye. I went into GAP and exchanged an unworn sweater I've had for a while, for a pair of pants. The difference worked out to me having to pay an extra twenty dollars. I'm still trying to save for a car although, at the moment I really don't have the need for one. Commuting to and from work on the TTC has been more than convenient. Still, I'd like to be able to come and go as I choose, especially on the weekends, in the comfort of my own vehicle. We'll see if I don't run into any other unexpected expenses. Another trip to Cancun maybe? I wish I were there again...
